The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations defines esprit de l'escalier as, "An untranslatable phrase, the meaning of which is that one only thinks on one's way downstairs of the smart retort one might have made in the drawing room."

my babies adore our catmint plant. A little too much, I think. It's already looking a bit scraggly from repeated loving.

Haha, Frank definitely overindulges in the catmint. It's his favorite place to sit and chew on the leaves.
